Korean Student Association (KSA) COMMUNITY 1. Open Community - All activities run by KSA will be consulted by KSA members before they are actually executed. - KSA budget and its use will be clearly open to KSA members. - We will renovate and reactivate the KSA webpage, which will make KSA webpage more than just a bulletin board. 2. Academic Community - To host special lectures from visiting scholars. Each year, several prominent visiting scholars from Korea visit UT-Austin. The special lectures from those visiting scholars in various fields will introduce the up-to-dated academic situations in Korea (e.g. how to cope with job market situation in Korea) as well as what they study. For those who has never been exposed to other academic areas but his/her own field of study, these lectures can be a great opportunity to satisfy the intellectual curiosity. 3. Cultural Community - Don't you miss Korean movies? We will try to present good and successful Korean movies for our KSA members. Wouldn't it be nicer if we watched JSA all together at the South mall before it came out as a video? - Single Party Do you remember the single party two years ago? We will resume the single party. It will be helpful for us to get know each other, and it will also give you a chance to revive yourself from the academic burden. - Talent Show for Kids Are you proud of your kids? They have talents that you want to show to other people? Let's bring them to the talent show. 4. Life Community - KSA Certification It is such a hassle to find a good auto body shop, a good insurance agent, or a good apartment locator. Why don't KSA find and give them a certificate under the name of KSA? This could save our time and effort. - Information session for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program Many KSA members have children under 5 years old. But not many of them participate in the WIC program because they are not informed much about the program. Why don't KSA host an information session for WIC program to find out the benefits and drawbacks?
